jbjJaneen Bertsche Johnson has been Campus Pastor at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana since 1995, and also serves AMBS as an admissions counselor, alumni director, and instructor. One of the classes she teaches is “Water of Life: Creation, Conservation, and Faith.” An ordained pastor in Mennonite Church USA, Janeen was a member of the denomination’s Executive Board from 2003 to 2011. She has been an Indiana Master Naturalist since 2008, and started the Earthcare 4-H Club, doing environmental education with children. She and Ryan Harker were co-editors of Rooted and Grounded: Essays on Land and Christian Discipleship (Wipf and Stock, 2016), which grew out of a conference sponsored by Seminary Stewardship Alliance.

ssa_headshotBrian A. M. O’Leary grew up in Seattle, Washington surrounded by water, forest, and sky. He has since traveled to the Midwest and graduated with a B.A. in Bible and Religion from Goshen College in Northern Indiana. He currently studies at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary pursuing a Masters of Divinity with a concentration in Old Testament Biblical Studies. He has also served as AMBS’s seminary gardens manager for one year and is looking forward to continuing in that capacity. Brian would like to continue his studies after seminary with a goal to eventually teach and is particularly curious about how his interest in the prophets can intersect with his interest in environmental ethics.  2016 is Brian’s first year serving as an AMBS liaison to Seminary Stewardship Alliance.
